5 Day Workshop - Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

Date:  July 8-12, 2024
Time:  10:00 am - 1:00 pm
-There will be a 25 minute lunch break.  Students are encouraged to bring lunch or a snack. 
-Microwave, refrigerator and bathroom on site for student use.  
-Actual class schedule and agenda will be discussed at the start of the workshop.  
Location:  The Mosaic Workshop in Austin, Texas!
Cost: $235 all supplies included
Student Class Size:  Limited to 12 students, Adults only (18 y/o and up).

About the class from Alex George, Instructor:

• Did you love to draw and create as a child, only to see that creative impulse fade when you reached your middle school years? Did you stop drawing when kids began to sort themselves into those who were “artistic“ versus those who “couldn’t draw"? This was the case for so many of us.
  
  
• The good news is that the impulse to create still lives within you. Anyone can learn (or re-learn) to draw. If it feels risky to re-enter this world, I’m here to take the pressure off!
  
  
• Join me for one week of 3-hour classes to rediscover that spontaneous joy. Together we will develop the perceptual skills to see objects as they really are and translate them into realistic drawings. 
  
  
• Using simple but novel techniques, we will grasp concepts like shading, proportion, and perspective.
  
  
• We will be inspired by diverse subject matter including nature, still life and the human figure. 
  
  
• We will learn to slow down our vision and tap into the brain’s right hemisphere visual mode, producing dramatic improvement in drawing skills. See the difference between students’ “first day” and “last day” drawings here.
