Elevate your mosaic skills with our Advanced Zen Coffee Table Mosaic Workshop! This session is tailored for those with prior mosaic experience, eager to take their artistry to the next level. Delve into the intricacies of Zen-inspired mandala design as you transform a simple coffee table into a sophisticated masterpiece.

Advanced Design Planning: Learn about the symbolic elements of Zen mandala design and develop intricate designs that embody balance and tranquility. Receive guidance on creating detailed sketches and planning complex andamento.

Expert Tile Cutting and Placement: Hone your skills in precision tile cutting and advanced arrangement techniques to achieve a seamless and harmonious design.

Professional Grouting and Finishing: Learn advanced grouting methods and finishing techniques that ensure a polished, professional look for your coffee table.

Schedule

Sat, 6/29 1-5pm — Introduction: plan & draw design on table, learn about mosaics and mandalas, and prep tesserae

Mon–Fri, 7/1-7/5 11-9pm — Extended open studio with instructors available to guide you

Sat, 7/6 1-4pm — Grout day

Sun, 7/7 1-2pm — Pick-up and exhibition

Other General Information:

Coffee tables are dark wood in round or square shape, approx. 30 x 30 x 16 inches.  (Note :  The coffee table is the substrate.  If you want to bring your own table as the substrate that's okay too!  If you choose to bring your own table be aware the workshop instruction is based on the substrate size noted above.
