AMG Monthly - Cohosted with Colorado Mosaic Artists.  Featuring Mosaic Artist Valerie Brownell discussing "Contemporary Mosaics as Fine Art in the 21st Century".   This is a presentation of the design ideas she thinks about when creating a mosaic for a fine art exhibition.

    • As our guest presenter for April, Valerie Brownell will share her design ideas when creating a mosaic for a fine art exhibition.  Her PowerPoint presentation is titled:  Contemporary Mosaics as Fine Art in the 21st Century.  

    • From Valerie:  

      I have been creating mosaics for over 25 years. Using traditional techniques to create contemporary fine art mosaics. Working primarily with stone and smalti, I also love to add unexpected materials now and again to give a contemporary feel to my work.

      Each mosaic is a message, a narrative woven in vibrant hues and simple designs, inviting you to look beyond the surface and experience the beauty of the message.

      • Materials Used

      • Any difficulties, surprises, tips, techniques

      • Comments or questions

    • If you choose to send your Show and Tell information, you will be asked if you would like to comment on your work, ask questions and answer question while your work is being presented.  The deadline for emailing pictures and artwork information is at 2:00 pm on the Friday before our scheduled meeting.
