Workshop: Community Tile-Making & Open Clay Studio

Join us for a creative, hands-on workshop where you’ll get the chance to make your own ceramic tiles out of clay. This open studio–style day is perfect for all levels of experience. Participants will have two options:
(1) Create Personal Tiles – Design and craft unique clay pieces to use in your own mosaic or ceramic projects. These will be bisque-fired after the workshop and returned to you, ready for glazing and future use.
(2) Contribute to a Community Project – Make tiles that will become part of the South Lamar Corridor mosaic, adding your artistic touch to a public artwork that will live on in Austin.
Throughout the day, you’ll also hear about the Kerr County Love Project, another community-driven mosaic mural initiative focused on healing and connection through art.
This will be a relaxed, fun, and inspiring day—whether you come to create for yourself, give to the community, or both.
All materials provided. No experience necessary—just bring your creativity!
