The Austin Mosaic Guild is pleased to have its May meeting on May 19, 2024 held in person on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Seguin, TX. This is an invitation to enjoy a fun and educational day out to create while enjoying the outdoors.

Location Details:
The closest GPS address for the entrance of the campground is 3108 Auxiliary Airport Rd. Seguin TX 78155.
If looking on Google Maps or other GPS apps, the entrance to the campground is the one immediately after where
the pin is dropped.
The caliche road off of Auxiliary Airport Rd. is 1.4 miles long to get down to the campground and the river.
To avoid any confusion, Roxana will put a sign or some balloons at the entrance.

MOSAIC MAKING: CREATIVE EXPRESSION!
In this mini workshop, you will put your creative and design muscles to work. You will be working with
silicone as an adhesive and will learn some tips and tricks on how to keep the silicone fresh while you
work
Prepare for the Day:
- Select a small(ish) substrate to cover with jewelry, stained glass, Van Gogh glass and beads.
- Sand your substrate if it has previously been varnished.
- Since grout will not be used for this project, some of your substrate will show through, so if its not a
color you are happy with, paint your substrate. Black is recommended.
What To Bring:
- Bring a small substrate you would like to cover with jewelry
- Nippers and tweezers.
- Jewelry wire cutters in case some of the jewelry needs cutting or adjusting.
- Apron
- Bring a sack lunch and your favorite beverages (refrigerators are available)
- A snack to share
- Lawn Chair if you want to spend some time on the banks of the Guadalupe River under 100 year old
pecan trees
What Will Be Provided:
- Deconstructed vintage jewelry
- Adhesive
- Bottled water / Sangria
- Ice
Mosaic Book Sale:
In order to facilitate AMG members access to the AMG library, the Board has decided to offer all the books currently in the library for sale at a discounted rate. The books will be available during the day for your perusal. Cash and checks will be accepted.
